District Game Tracker Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: October 4, 2026

District Game Tracker helps you keep a personal record of sporting events you have attended. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, where it is stored, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

District Game Tracker handles information that you choose to enter or add:

How information is used

This information is used only to provide app features such as displaying and editing your collection, calculating statistics, showing a photo gallery, creating backups, and synchronizing or sharing a collection through iCloud. District Game Tracker does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, and the developer does not sell your data or use it to track you across apps or websites.

Storage and iCloud synchronization

Your collection is stored in the app's local database on your device. When iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit synchronizes the collection, birthday, game records, and photos through the iCloud account signed in on your devices. Apple processes and stores that information as the iCloud service provider under Apple's terms and privacy policy.

The developer does not operate a separate District Game Tracker account system or server and does not routinely receive your collection. The developer cannot access the private CloudKit data associated with your personal iCloud account through the app. If you deliberately send a backup, screenshot, or other information when requesting support, the developer can access the material you send.

CloudKit sharing

If you choose to share a collection, Apple creates a CloudKit share. People you invite can access the collection name, birthday, game records, and photos in that shared collection. Depending on the permission you assign, a participant may have View or View & Edit access. Participants with edit permission can change or delete shared content, and their changes synchronize to other participants. Do not share a collection with anyone you do not trust.

City geocoding and maps

District Game Tracker derives city names from venue text in your game records to create the cities-visited map. Those city strings are submitted to Apple's geocoding service to obtain map coordinates. District Game Tracker does not request or collect your device's current location. Map previews and resolved coordinates may be cached on your device to improve performance.

Backups and exports

When you create a backup, District Game Tracker writes a file containing the collection name, optional birthday, and game records. If you select “Include Photos,” the backup also contains your saved photos. A copy is saved in the app's local documents. Backups are not password protected. You decide where to send or save an exported backup using Apple's share sheet. Exported files are outside District Game Tracker's control; deleting the app or its data does not delete copies you saved elsewhere or gave to another person.

Retention and deletion

Information remains on your device and in iCloud until you delete it, remove the app's iCloud data, or otherwise manage it through Apple’s iCloud settings. Deleting a game removes its active game and photo records and synchronizes that deletion through CloudKit. A recovery copy of the game and its photos is retained for 30 days only on the device that deleted it. Recovery copies are not synced or included in device backups or exported game backups. The app shows the recovery deadline and offers Restore, Delete Permanently, and confirmed Clear All actions. Expired copies are removed when the app next checks them; removal may occur after 30 days if the app has been closed. Expired copies cannot be restored. Restoring requires current edit access to the original collection and synchronizes the restored content normally. If the source collection is deleted or disappears locally after access is revoked, its recovery copies are removed on the next collection reload. Removing an individual photo in the editor does not create a recovery copy. Owners can remove eligible collections and manage CloudKit sharing. Apple may retain backups or service records for a limited period under its own policies.

You are responsible for deleting exported backup files from every location where you stored or shared them. A share participant may also retain information they previously viewed or exported.

Deleting a game or collection does not delete previously created backup files or photos you saved to Apple's Photos app. Derived statistics and map caches may remain on the device until replaced, cleared by the system where applicable, or removed with the app. Deleting the app removes its local data, including local backups and recovery copies, but does not by itself delete your iCloud collection or copies held by other people.

Security

District Game Tracker relies on iOS data protection and Apple's iCloud and CloudKit security. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so use care when sharing collections or exported backups.

Children's privacy

District Game Tracker is not designed to collect information directly from children and does not provide public profiles, advertising, or a developer-operated account system. A birthday entered for statistics is stored as part of the collection as described above.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when District Game Tracker's features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
